Privacy Policy

What We Collect

PickATrip collects the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Display name — the name you enter when creating or joining a group. This is shown to other group members.
• Swipe preferences — which destinations you like or skip, used to calculate group matches and improve deck recommendations.
• Anonymous session — a random identifier stored in your browser to maintain your session. No email or password is required.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

• Match you with group members on shared destination preferences
• Generate smarter destination decks in subsequent rounds
• Display group availability and vote results

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

PickATrip uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication (data stored in the US)
• Vercel — application hosting and analytics
• Sentry — error monitoring (production only, no personal data collected)

Outbound links to booking platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb, flight search) may include affiliate tracking parameters. These platforms have their own privacy policies.

Cookies & Storage

We use browser cookies solely to maintain your authentication session with Supabase. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Data Retention

Anonymous accounts with no group memberships are automatically deleted after 30 days. Group data (swipes, matches, votes) is retained as long as the group exists. There is currently no self-service account deletion — contact us if you want your data removed.
